UAE, Pakistan Sign MoUs to Boost Cultural, Consular, and Economic Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of culture and consular affairs.

According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders also witnessed the signing of an MoU between the UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), establishing the UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council to foster stronger business ties.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah expressed a strong desire to deepen investment relations with Pakistan. The UAE delegation arrived in Pakistan on Sunday for a two-day official visit.

A statement issued by the Foreign Office noted that the visit would further strengthen the longstanding ties between the two brotherly nations.

In a joint press conference with Ishaq Dar, Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the historic and deep-rooted bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, emphasizing the shared commitment to further developing ties in various sectors for the mutual benefit of both peoples.

“I believe that the people of Pakistan and the UAE are eager to see more progress in our relationship,” Sheikh Abdullah said, adding that significant advancements have already been made over the past one or two years.

He expressed optimism that cooperation in trade, investment, and aviation would grow rapidly in the near future.

Welcoming the distinguished guest, Ishaq Dar said the visit was a testament to the strong and enduring brotherhood between the two countries, rooted in centuries of mutual respect, affection, and shared aspirations.

Dar also expressed hope that the visit could have been longer, while acknowledging Sheikh Abdullah's pressing global commitments.

The UAE remains one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners in the Middle East and a key source of remittances, with a large Pakistani expatriate community contributing significantly to both economies.
